About Deerblood Rosé
Stag Dining formed an alliance with Bodkin Wines in the fall of 2013 with the ambition of making a beautiful Provencal style rosé that we are pleased to share with you. The label was painted for us by our talented friend Alex Reisfar. The artwork showcases an evergreen and rose in the mouth of the deer, this is a traditional German practice after a successful hunt. The evergreen represents the last meal for the dear as it is honored as it goes into the afterlife. The painting also depicts a stag with arrows symbolizing the friendship of Bodkin Wines and Stag Dining and our love for hunting. Bodkin is an ancient arrowhead point that was used in the Battle of Agincourt on Saint Crispin’s Day immortalized in Shakespeare’s Henry V.
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother
We look forward to joining us for a marvelous afternoon of revelry.
