Disney & Frog at the Snowden House

One of our favorite events from 2012 was a wine paired dinner for Frog and Disney. The Lloyd Wright designed Snowden house made for the perfect setting and was a great tie in for the two clients. The Mayan revival house was nick-named the Jaws House because the Mayan-Revival design looked like the Jaws poster… Although it was built nearly 50 years prior it is an apropos name because the property is simply jaw-dropping.

After doing some research we learned that Walt Disney would often call upon Lloyd Wright’s father, Frank, to come to the studio to lecture, debate and converse on new Disney projects and concepts.

Chef Jordan Grosser delivered an inspired menu composed of several whimsical dishes that spoke to the creativity, design and imagination… all of which Lloyd Wright, his father and Disney know so well.  The Savory and Sweet Lollipop Meadow featured pickled onion, brioche, bacon jam and huckleberry that was served on sticks emerging from a bed of grass. Jordan again turned to the childhood imagination of the “Choose Your Own Adventure” books by allowing the diner to build their own ceviche experience with their choice of different sauce and herb infused oils.

Working with Frog on this project in this setting was really a wonderful experience.
